Artek Riihitie Grey Plant Pot

Aino Aalto designed these pots for the terrace of the home on Helsinki's Riihitie Road that she shared with her husband, Alvar Aalto. They were showcased at the Paris World Fair in 1937 but never went into serial production. More than 80 years later, they are now reinterpreted for indoor use so that their beauty and ingenuity can be utilized by fans of Finnish and modern design. Each plant pot is handcrafted from glazed ceramic to create a piece of simple, functional art. Without corners, the organic shape embodies the Aaltos' belief that even the smallest details are worthy of our time and attention. This version is called "Shape B" in medium size.
